+Call to Worship

Leader: The LORD has set apart the faithful for himself;

People: the LORD hears when I call to him.

Leader: When you are disturbed, do not sin; ponder it on your beds, and be silent.

ALL: Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD.

+Invocation

O holy and righteous God, who nourishes all creation with your light and makes joyful all that lives on earth and in the heavens.  We confess our sins before you.  Where you offered light, we have chased after darkness; when you offered peace, we have created confusion; while you offered hope, we clung to false gods of vanity and pride.  Forgive us, O Lord, and restore us that we might again bask in the warmth of your presence. Help us to claim the power of Christ’s resurrection in our lives day by day—power to love, power to forgive, power to overcome sin and live in your righteousness.  Satisfy our restless hearts by bringing them to rest in the fullness of your love.  For we ask it in the powerful name of the Resurrected One.  Amen.
