+Call to Worship                                                                    David Smith

Leader: Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts.

People: See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

We thank you, our Father, that you are the source of all good things.  We thank you for the warmth of summer sun, for the refreshing pleasure of a cool stream, for the joy of family and friends spending time together.  We thank you for these long summer days, which remind us that you are the creator and sustainer of all good things.  And yet, Lord, we know that you want to create in us more than a pleasant day; we know that you have placed within each of us a dream, a purpose that you are ready to unleash in us if we will but allow you to do so. Give us the courage to dream your dream; give us the boldness to claim your vision; give us the strength to carry out your purpose in our lives.  Perhaps there are some who have not yet discovered that dream; work within them to help them find and nurture what you have already planted in their lives. Others know the dream but struggle with it; help them find that perfect surrender to your will that alone will give them freedom to soar.  Help us to lift up your vision in our lives as we pray in the name of the One who was lifted up for us. Amen.
